Abunda Life Health Retreat and Clinic was founded in 1972 by Dr. Robert H. Sorge, ND, Ph.D. As a believer in detoxification, fitness, naturopathic medicine, natural foods and supplements since a child, Dr. Sorge dreamed of creating a place were people could come to to get healthy...naturally. Abunda Life as a Company today, has become an abundance of health in every aspect. From the vitamin, herbs and natural food products, the unique health services to the years of experience that Dr. Sorge and his team of healthcare practicioners have to offer--we are proud of the services that we are able to bring to the public today and excited about how we can help the children of tommorrow. Abunda Life, Inc. is a company that pioneered the holistic healthcare industry. When vitamins were considered "taboo" and excersice a "fad" we were there. It is exciting to see how far Science and Medicine has grown over the past 30 years. Today, people are more educated and are looking beyond the norm toward what really makes them healthy. Robert H. Sorge again gained national recognition in 1961 when he challenged the U.S. Army by refusing to be inoculated on the grounds of his religious convictions. The issue made every newspaper in the country. He received over 10,000 letters against the U.S. government.

Robert H. Sorge received his Doctorate of Osteopathy in 1964 from the Anglo American Institute of Drugless Therapy. He went on to complete his 5 year residency at the United States School of Naturopathic Medicine, recieving his N.D, (Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine), and his Ph.D., (Doctorate of Philosophy in Naturopathic Medicine).

In 1971, while serving as State Chaplain, he was named Educator of the Year by the U.S. Jaycees. Then, in 1978 he was again honered by the American Naturopathic Society, being named as "Doctor of the Year" for his pioneering holistic philosophy.

Since 1964, Dr. Sorge has been in private practice and has been developing unique and powerful natural food medicines, nutraceuticals and supplements. Today he has over 500 products available to the public.

Although highly qualified in the field of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Sorge is not a Medical Doctor. He employees Medical Doctors and Nurses that oversee his practice in regulation with the United Stated Medical Board and will recommend patients to trained specialists for cases that require such care. He believes in preventative medicine that emcompasses the wholeness of "Body....Mind...Spirit" and strives for the body to walk the "natural course" as our Creator has intended.
